Well, one week is gone now since my leaving. The floor of my bedroom is layered like a wedding cake with clothes, and I'm caught between three different worlds: Israel, Broomall, and the Poconos. Packing is constant. It took me about two days to get over the time zones, and I could only gauge it by my ability to stay up late to watch the Phils play in LA. I gave a presentation about my trip to a group of seniors, and tried my best to avoid just the amazing places, so I touched on the neighbors living next door on Mt. Scopus, and my Yom Yerushalayim adventures. That got me thinking of all those things I just didn't get around to doing:
Exploration and education, nestled in the nook of a neighborhood bully.

Akiba-Barrack Graduation 2009 and the Dangers of Ahava Shower Gel: Ira leaves Israel
Tuesday morning I woke bright and early to work on a paper. 11 O'clock arrived with a nation wide security test. Sirens wailed all over the country, and those who felt like it, went to the local bomb shelter, or hid under a bed, or just spread out on the floor. Luckily, I lived in a bomb shelter, so I could go on working.

A Breath of Fresh Air
I'm taking this opportunity, after having completed one course today with my Archaeology of Jerusalem final, to inform you of my current status. Here I am, this week, this final week, stuck with a big mess of silly work: A 15 page paper of spitback research followed by a final, all about Israeli Settlements; a Colloquial Arabic exam; two five page essays for Jewish education; and finally, a response to an article and a chapter about Israeli literature for children.
I needed a breath of fresh air, so I took some advice from the one year students, and went to the roof.
Because of these views, and how much I'm gonna miss 'em, I've decided to share with you the panoramas I've made over the past few months...enjoy. Just click on slideshow on the left side.
Now, back to work, maybe with a break later for Burger's Bar, one last time...
